PEDro scale

Clinical trials indexed on the PEDro database are rated with a checklist called the “PEDro scale”. The PEDro scale was developed to help the users of the PEDro database to rapidly identify clinical trials that are likely to be internally valid and have sufficient statistical information to make their results interpretable.

The PEDro eligibility criteria for clinical trials, systematic reviews and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines are listed on this page.

Codes

Each trial, review and guideline indexed on PEDro is coded for the subdiscipline of physiotherapy, the intervention, the problem being treated and the body part.

Confidence interval calculator

This is an Excel spreadsheet that can be used to calculate confidence intervals for a mean, the difference between two means, a proportion or odds, comparisons of two proportions (the absolute risk reduction, number needed to treat, relative risk, relative risk reduction and odds ratio), sensitivity, specificity and two-level likelihood ratios.
